About

I'm Nick, a seemingly rare breed of software engineer that aims for functional and optimization rather than eyecandy and ease. I'm the owner and operator of the oldnet archival site Worlio.com and a member of the indie game studio Canithesis Interactive.

I enjoy programming and tinkering with software. I'm also an oldnet archivist, one focused on archiving old Internet software and services and trying to restore them.

FAQ

Q: How did you come up with your name?
I wish I could say it was a well thought-out name, but it was really just a spur-of-the-moment type name when I was registering for a service. I couldn't think of anything so I just jumbled letters together to make something easy to say and unique.
Q: A/S/L?
x86_64 / Linux / C++
Q: How did you get started in programming?
As a kid, I could never just play a game. I had to tinker with it, even if it meant breaking it. I just had to change things, make things, break things, which is probably why I was fascinated with ROBLOX. While I never made anything of note, I played around extensively with the Lua in ROBLOX, until eventually I outgrew the game and moved on to learning better things with the knowledge I achieved.
